Worthy of special
mention are Rocamadour, St Cirq Lapopie and Sarlat-la-Caneda.
Crafted out of the local stone clinging to the edge
of an impressive cliff 150 metres high, Rocamadour
is the second most visited pilgrimage site in the
whole of France after Mont St Michel, once you've
have been there, you'll see why. St Cirq Lapopie
is simply breathtaking, so much so, that it features
in France's Top 10 most beautiful villages. Sarlat
is situated in the Dordogne and again, takes your
breath away with it's sheer beauty. You can quite
easily see what it was like to live in medieval times
once you're stood in one of the many side streets
that run through this unbelievably unspoilt town.
All of these sites are within an hour's slow drive
and can be enjoyed in any season of the year, especially
for the budding photographers amongst you
